Rock & Roll

Characteristics:

Rock music is characterized by its rythm and the importance of the string instruments. The Singer also has an important role in rock and roll.

Instruments

The electric guitar and bass (and sometimes their non-electric versions) are the most important instruments in rock and roll music, together with  the keyboard and the drumset. Usually the guitar is given more importance tan the bass. Rock and roll groups are usually small, with five or less people.

History and styles

Rock and roll music comes from blues, jazz, country, and folk music from America.
Several music styles were developed from rock and roll:
-Punk rock or punk: a simpler way of playing rock.
-Goth rock: a darker and more sinister knid of music which still gave importance to guitar.
-Hard rock: is the style that later developed into heavy metal. This was the kind of music that The Rolling Stones played.

Composers and songs

Two famous composers that contributed to rock and roll were:
